It seems none of them like DMIID. I seem to remember Jon Moss at some point saying he felt it departed too much from their earlier stuff, and blaming it on George for bringing in his own writers/collaborators. Oh well, I still enjoy it! lol

I agree 100% with Jon on that! He's my favorite member of Culture Club even though most fans hate him. He's honest, witty and real. I guess DMIID isn't bad per se. I wouldn't say I hated it, but I don't really love it. It's okay I guess but to me it doesn't sound like Culture Club, sounds like some other band. I feel like it they are going to make a CC album it should be from the 4 of them putting all their ideas in, like they did at the beginning and not have George's solo band as involved. As I remember Jon said it departed from their earlier stuff, but he didn't specifically blame George for bringing in his solo collaborators as the reason. That's something that a lot of fans like me have said as the reason they don't like it. So I think you're mixing together a little bit what Jon said and what fans have said.

When I went to see Cher in May, I think I was the only one in a sold-out arena who knew the new songs (she did 4). The crowd didn't come alive until she "turned back time". ohgoon

I think though 4 new songs is actually a good number. I wouldn't mind that at all. I do like to hear some new music, but not the whole concert and not at the expense of completely ignoring your biggest hits and most iconic songs. George at his last solo concert did the opposite. He only did 4 hit songs from the 80's which doesn't work at all.
