Thugs Need Love Songs...

Isn't this concept a little played out by now?

The start of the popularity was of course by Tupac. But then Ja Fool & Ashitti made it a huge deal in the early 00's. After that 50 Cent, Chingy, Snoop Dogg, T.I, Rocko, Fat Joe, Puff Daddy, Nelly, Bow Wow, Lil Wayne, Cher, Coldplay, White Stripes, Arcade Fire, Price, Madonna, Cat Stevens etc. Plus everyone and their mamas were making thugs need love songs...

Usually with R. Kelly, Mya, Monica, Kelly Rowland, Ciara on the hook.

I still hear so many of these songs being made. And it's always like this...

''Yo girl i love you and shit. You the only one... but I'm gangster so let me talk about my gang or how I'm gonna tear up your pussy! but i love you girl''

Does anyone else actually like these songs? the concept was once an ok idea. Now it's just a parody of itself lol

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

lol it's true! they all have a sensitive esque moment. Then there's police sirens, a bullet sound, or talk about his gang. Then there's always talks of the sexual play as well... ''i'm the only one girl who you can ticle tease fuck ya with my tongue and wata bata''

But LL wasn't a thug smile i think this was more about ''bad boy'' or being a ''player'' and wanting love. VS talking about your gang and how you destroy the private parts.
