New Edition on The View - June 25, 2014

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

You should check out their interview on the Covino and Rich show on SiriusXM from 6-24. It was really good.

They always kill it live (even if I'm not a huge fan of theirs). lol

They basically look the same. Ralph's voice has held up and of course Johnny.

That's the benefit of touring on a regular basis. Your chords remain strong because you're constantly using (exercising) them. Now some of the other veteran acts that come out the blue and perform at some random award show without building their chords back into shape is another story lol

Ral-T absolutely slayed that performance, it was nice to see him get so much spotlight. He might not be the most amazing vocalist in the history of R&B, but you can see he puts his all into those performances, and he's enjoying himself! The same can be said for all those guys, although the dance moves do get kinda corny after a while. But they rock it. At least they're not sloshing around the stage, they're still pretty spry for a bunch of guys pushing 50.

.

And of course lots of respect for Bobby. When he keeps it together, he's still a great performer.

I don't want your rhythm without your rhyme

Leave Bobby alone! At least he's trying, that's the second time I've bseen him perform "If It Isn't Love" with the others. Speaking of sauce, who here's gonna buy Bobby's BBQ sauce and seasonings?

Is it going to be next to Michael Anthony's hot sauce, Smokey Robinson's frozen cajun dinners, 50 Cent's Vitamin Water, Gladys Knight's Chicken & Waffles, Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo, and Linda McCartney's vegetarian foods? razz

Shame they don't seem to be doing a new album. Their last one totally flopped but it had some nice mature cuts on the back end of the album that could of been hits... you just know Jam/Lewis have some songs for them.....

That's because Puff Daddy didn't promote it much. NE also had some disagreements with the material Diddy had them record.

Actually, they said a new album is in the works right now and Johnny's about to drop a new album too.

Johnny premiered his new song on Steve Harvey's radio show this week. I think it was Wed. I was on my way to work and heard it and him on with the gang.

I'd go see them in concert. Their voices sound more mature though.

Blah. They've been saying that for years. Seriously, "Home again" defied expectations and became a hit, but they lost it through years of middling solo projects when all they needed to do was another album.

I know "One love" was dogged by lack of promotion (serious Bad Boy no followup single?), but that wait was too long, as is this one. Being a nostalgia act is a good gig, but they wasted time and could of built up an even stronger catalogue of songs if not for well, whatever reason they had?

Shame they wasted years when they could of kept putting out the odd album or 2. Not every 2 years, but every 8-10 years? A waste....
