Fan Foolishness is NOT Okay!!!

When did it stop being enough to just appreciate the music?

Some fans go as far as having threaten the lives and limbs of people who say anything less than flattering about your "idol"?

Examples:

Taylor Swift has seemingly gotten in relationships just to get material for an upcoming albums. She puts her business out there for some the general public, but you better not see her as anything other than a victim.

Nicki is treating Iggy the same way Lil Kim treated her, but when Lil Kim did it she was labelled as a "has been and a hater". Nicki's words are viewed as "the truth".

Rihanna starts beefs on a whim, but whoever the dig is against doesn't have a right to respond.

You can't scroll down the comment section of a FB or Youtube page of a female artist without a Beyonce fan making a Beyonce is the Best reference.

Absolutely nothing Prince does or say is wrong, because he's Prince and we must love him unconditionally.

Do anyone else feel that there is something not quite right with this type of behavior?

Well yeah didn't you get the memo?

I think you've been on the org long enough to see fans are highly opinionated. Isn't fan short for fanatic. It isn't new its just more obvious now. It isn't pretty but its not going away anytime soon.

To answer the question you started your post with: since Elvis and The Beatles. This sort of behavior is as old as pop music.
