This is everyone I hate about George's recent solo music. It's supposed to be "mature" but really it's just so boring, slow and dreary with the ugly raspy vocals. Please do not make the new CC album sound like this.

Or maybe people are more willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. I think he doesn't try too hard because people always praise him no matter what. A lot of artists have to work hard to prove they are talented and meet people's standards. But with him, it's just George is God, George is great regardless. He's done some good stuff, but also a lot of not so good stuff. He should be held to a higher standard like other artists are.

I like this because it is not something "pop" that would sound ridiculous in 2014 if CC or BG attempted to be on the charts these days. It does show an older sound to George's voice - something that has been happening over the last 20 years. Let's face it, it's inevitable. I'm not sure what the song is from, and even though it is dark, think it's a good song.

But it seems to me there has to be something in between current pop like Katy Perry or someone and slow MOR music. What about a happy medium?

The Culture Club I grew up was fun pop music that didn't take itself too seriously but had a few ballads for variety.

I do like more modern innovative slightly uptempo forms of music. These very conventional dreary sort of ballads are just dull to me. I do like some slower stuff but things that are interesting like trip hop not this dull stuff.

The change in his voice is do to drugs and smoking, not something inevitable. His only in his fifties, not his eighties. Other artists from the same time period, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Simon Le Bon don't sound like this.

This isn't really new..., I Don’t Love You, written by and performed by George, is being used in a special film to advertise The Gentleman Collection, a jewelery collaboration between celebrity stylist David thomas and designer Jason of Beverley Hills.
Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman

You hear 'slow and boring', I hear 'rich and powerful'. All in the ear of the beholder! cool
