Inside Dr. Dre's 3.6 Acre, $40 Million Mega-Mansion

photo drdrehome.jpg

Dr. Dre isn't wasting anytime flaunting his increased wealth thanks to the sale of his company BEATS he sold his part owenership in to Apple. Take a peek inside a $40 Million palace when you hit the jump...

Although FORBES made sure to shut down the notion that Dr. Dre is in the Billionaire's Club (he's just a couple hundred million shy)....that won't stop him from living like one. The BEATS co-founder plunked down $40 Million to purchase a mega-mansion formerly owned by supermodel Gisele Bundchen and NFL QB Tom Brady.

The Brentwood, CA palace is 3.5 acres and includes a professional grade home gym, an infinity pool, a waterfall and motor court. We managed to grab a few interior pics of the STUPID BIG pad from a profile Architectural Digest ran on Gisele. And we're fantasizing with every pic.

That's the most ungangster looking place i've ever seen lol

This is why Dre will never ever finish Detox. And why should he? music was his first love and it got him where he is today. But he's probably made more money in the past few years with Beats... then he did from N.W.A to Eminem put together.

Exactly. Instead of suing that random Canadian Lady who owns Death Row's music because she changed the artwork on Chronic Re-Lit, Dr. Dre should just own the whole catalog.

Well, Dre isn't a real gangster. And he's been on the down low for decades. So i don't expect him to have a gangster house lol

I'm all in favor of Dre owning catalog that was largely his work (Chronic, Doggystyle), but why should he own albums he had nothing to do with, like The Doggfather, The 7 Day Theory, Dogg Food and Necessary Roughness? Even the biggest seller in the Death Row catalog, All Eyez On Me only has two Dre songs on it.

In terms of production relevance, the most important producer to Death Row as a whole is Daz Dillinger. Daz has credits on every one of those albums I just mentioned, except for 7 Day Theory which was largely produced by Big D and Hurt-M-Badd.

How does one's racial identity factor into buying a grand estate? You lost me there. And for all we know he could be very secretive about sharing his money.

I'm sure he did "Let's Play House" on Dogg Food, but my point is when Death Row classics get repackaged, it would be Dre's "Afro Puffs", and it's "California Love (Remix)" - all his key things were the crucial singles. Seems silly he wouldn't have a hand in the label he co-founded. [OF COURSE he wasn't there for a 1997 album like Unnecessary Roughness.]

How could he be so powerful now without his catalog, but as of only four years ago, he was invested enough to be battling Death Row in court (and it wasn't against the other founder, Suge Knight).

According to some interviews, Rage's album was done in like '94-95 but sat in the shelf until '97.

Okay, GREAT, then you must be aware that Dr. Dre co-founded the label. I don't see why you are arguing against this.

THIS.

If Daz had sold Beats By Daz for a squillion dollars, then we could argue it. But he's hardly in a position to do this. So right now, I am saying, instead of Dre being in court over the control of his own work (which will be the most valued portion of the catalog in terms of reissues), he should just fucking own it - especially since he was the label's co-founder.
