That's a cool song, but isn't everyone and their brother trying to emulate this sound these days anyway? confused

Thanks to a viral video posted last month on YouTube, "Canned Heat" recently made its way back onto the Billboard Dance charts; Hot Dance/Electronic Songs (#10), Dance/Electronic Streaming (#5). It'll be interesting to see if their new music gets any recognition/love from US radio, the industry, and the music-buying public. Maybe Jay needs to pull out his old Native American headdress to get the attention of the media and twitterverse.

Until then...this'll continue to be on repeat at my place:

I stumbled upon this yesterday:

Aparrently, it's an unreleased track recorded in the late '80s or early '90s by JK pre-Jamiroquai.

.

I like all their stuff up until and including 'Deeper Underground'. That was a boss soundtrack single.

.

I can also very much enjoy 'Canned Heat', though I didn't otherwise care for Synkronized.

.

For me, it was just never the same magic as with the first three albums. smile

One of the band members, I think it was Derrick, said they were working on a new album. Really hope they bring one out this year! Even if they filled it with RDLS outtakes I'd be happy ('Smile' sounds great and so does the snippet of 'Super Highway' that was posted on youtube). And yeah - really great remasters.

rare early footage just posted to Youtube! Jamiroquai performing at the Jazz Cafe in 1992

This has to be the earliest video recording of Jamiroquai with Simon Bartholomew on guitar, Nick Tydeman on bass and PJ Harvey on percussions, before Gavin Dodds, Stu Zender and Maurizio Ravallico would have joined, Nick Van Gelder, Toby Smith and Wallis are already on board. Setlist:

1. Sunshine
2. Togetherland
3. Too Young To Die
4. Jazz Carnival (Azymuth cover)
5. When You Gonna Learn

I'm the same way. I couldn't stop spinning their first 3 albums but have been less impressed with their outings after that. Zender leaving may have had a lot to do with that.

I agree for that for the most part, though Rock Dust Light Star is just as good as their best albums in my opinion.

I'm not counting on it lol if a brilliant song like "Seven Days In Sunny June" doesn't get any attention in America, then nothing else they do,will either. That's OK,though.I would hate to see them "dumb down" their music and bring in guest rappers, just to get a hit in America.
