Kenny Dixon is one amazing artist, really wish Prince would connect with him for some records.

This guy has got the groove down deep.

THIS right here IMO is the best shit Kenny Dixon Jr. (Moodymann) ever did. You really need the Black Mahogani full-length LP because it has a long full length version of Mahogany Brown on it which is longer, darker, and funkier than this. Outside of house music and serious music circles, nobody in America knows or gives a fuck about Moodymann. I remember like it was yesterday the day in January of 1998 when, upon recommendation from a friend, I bought this record from Beat Non-Stop on Melrose. BLEW MY MIND. Since his music cannot be corporatized/monetized-for-others benefit, he will remain on the fringes. A true GENIUS in black music.

People need to look for the embedded knowledge in this music. It takes a while sometimes for the groove to kick in, but he takes you places.
