So called ''satanic'' music is so hilarious. I have no idea why people take it so seriously. Hardcore christian groups were always against groups like Slayer, Overkill, Behemouth etc. A lot of these groups lyrics are so over the top it's on some theater shit.

Metal lyrics are interesting, a lot of them are about having limitless power, or, being subjected to something else's limitless power. I guess it's like gangster rap, it puts out this creepy ambience that makes people feel good, kind of powerful. Horror movie vibe. They get to feel like they are the danger.

The whole idea of devil worship is kind of silly IMO, you have to believe in Jesus first, and we all know how that story ends. Why would you side with the loser? It's more of a symbolic thing, rebellion against authority, against the squares that swallow what they're told and never question it. Modern Satanism is really just secular humanism with a sick sense of humor.

I read once that the one most popular word in metal lyrics was some variation of "lies" or "liar".

I think it's fine if people don't like it. I myself mainly like a lot so called ''satanic'' bands. For the instrumentals... lyrically i'm like meh. Or laughing my ass off

The lyrics are always so silly and over the top. It's amazing how serious some folks take it. Including the fans... Slayer fans used to think they were all about hatred. And killed goats and shit in their spare time. Turns out they just played the evil thing for ''fun''

They really do appear to spend a lot of time on the lyrics just to have it come out sounding like "WAAARGH BLADDABLADDABLADDA OOGA OOGA OOGA!"

I like Slayer, they are perfect when it's time to get out some agression. I don't think they are really satanic though, like some of those crazy Scandanavian black metal bands.

I can't stand the growling vocals they do, it's just kinda cartoonish, the whole vibe.

I do really like Opeth when they do their mellow stuff. Their "Damnation" album is amazing. They're certainly not satanic, though.

Not really "Satanic" but played with the image. more of a rebellion against the hypocrisy of Christianity. The band I am talking about is Christian Death(The Early Years with singer Rozz WIlliams) was actually a good slow punk band(goth?), The later years it became more of a Jerry Springer/Geraldo Satanic type of Band with a different singer and different bands. I would check them out.
