Guess Who's Making Whoopie With Your Girlfriend (at 3:51)

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I know this tune was written by Edwin Starr, and originally performed by Blue-Eyed soulsters Shades of Blue (1966), but the J-5 version is definitely my favorite--Jermaine and Mike definitely put the soulful spin on this!!

I like 'Ready or Not' from this album too along with "I'll be There" & "Mamas Pearl". Darling Dear is a great track, the opening intro has that classic Motown sound. Overall, one of the J5's most consistently good LPs.

Darling Dear does not get enough love. I am not quite sure whether this is true, but it I heard or read somewhere Darling Dear was one of Prince's favourite song.

Darling Dear is one of the few tracks recorded with the Funk Brothers. It might be the only one come to think of it, that's why you hear that classic Motown sound to it.
