The best waiting room music ever

Hello .org

I work in an fun, hip/modern Manhattan office at reception and I'm always looking for something catchy or jazzy to listen to. I try to play music that is creative and different while not featuring ANY VOCALS whatsoever.

My challenge/hope/request of y'all is to send along any full album or playlist youtube links or artist suggestions that are extremely fun but completely wordless.

Popular selections include:
Django Reinhardt

Booker T. & The MGs

Allen Toussaint "The Bright Mississippi"
any Ultra Lounge compilations (they feature minimal vocals)

William Orbit "Pieces in Modern Style"

Debussy

Miles "Kind of Blue" "Sketches of Spain", the classics

Coltrane - yall know any full album kicks booty

Senor Coconut

Bobby Timmons

Herb Alpert

DJ Cam Loa Project

Quincy Jones - Soul Bossa Nova

Thievery Corp - Sounds of the Verve Hi Fi

Hook me up!! I want ANY of your swanky, martini-fueled selections and your funky improv/solo laden choices.

Great!!

I am listening to the Foreign Exchange instrumentals now, quite nice!!

Hope some leftfield lounge-jazz shows up in further replies... I love Sergio Mendes but he tends to be vocal heavy, anything similar to that would be awesome. I do rock Stan Getz a lot.

You can try Italian movie soundtracks from the 1960s & 1970s. They sometimes have scatting type vocals, but a lot of the songs are instrumental.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

^ actually that does have vocals, but it's still toe-tapping, jazzy and chilled out.

Wow!! I am bombarded with great material. I love the idea of those classic movie soundtracks. Knew this was a nice move, with the exception of Slayer. brick
