It's a cover of Terence Trent D'Arby's 'Let Her Down Easy'.

One of my favourite songs. Prefer the original though.

I really like George Michael AND Terence Trent d'Arby. But I'm not really feeling this cover. TBH most of George Michael's studio work after 'As' has left me a bit cold. His live performances still rock imo (glad he recovered from the vocal chord damage that his earlier illness inflicted on him), but on the stuff he records in studio, I think he goes overboard with the production, and that really detracts from his voice. Same with this TTD cover.

George once covered TTD's 'Sign Your Name' somewhere way back in the early '90s at a live performance, so if you haven't heard that, track it down: it's sick. It mostly stays true to the original, but GM adds his own flavour to it. I had hoped 'Let Her Down Easy' to be like that, but I don't think it adds anything in particular to TTD's version, and to me it feels kind of watered down. </critic mode>

I am still excited about Symphonica.

Love, love, love GM!

His voice is beautiful. Cover or not, he always does an amazing job on any song he sings.
