Holler If Ya Hear Me - The Broadway Musical

I saw this today via AllHipHop.com:

(AllHipHop News) The music of Tupac Shakur is officially headed to Broadway. Kenny Leon’s musical Holler If Ya Hear Me is set to open this year. The play will begin previewing at New York City’s Palace Theatre on May 26th, and the official opening is scheduled for June 19th.

Holler If Ya Hear Me is not a biographical story of the late Hip Hop icon. The plot of the musical will center around two childhood friends’ struggles in the inner-city. Pac’s music and lyrics serve as inspiration for the production.

Todd Kreidler wrote the play. Tupac’s mother Afeni Shakur, Eric L. Gold, Chun-soo Shin and Jessica Green serve as producers. Choreography was handled by Wayne Cilento. Casting has not been announced as of yet.

Hope it's good. That's an ultimate honor to have someone's music like that be part of a Broadway play. Which comes full circle concerning the first thing 2Pac did in public was perform on "Raisin in the Sun" in a play while growing up in NYC.
