I refuse to go to many concerts these days. The prices have sky-rocketed to the point that I don't want to pay this price for anyone. I like both these guys, but no thanks, I won't pay it.

I'm also thinking that I may not go see Prince the next time he comes to my city. The last time I saw him, it's cost me and my husband almost $600 for the tickets. If his next tour is more about the band than him, I won't be going unless it's under a $100 per ticket and I highly doubt that anyway.

It's like most things.............if people are willing to pay, the prices will continue to go up, but if the concert hall is half empty, maybe someone will get the message.

I pretty much will not pay over a $100 especially if its in a larger venue, i cant understand people paying hundreds and hundreds to go see a show in an arena? for that money i want a perfect view and to be up close, dont like large venues to begin with, they are almost never memorable shows.

Do you think if these artists were making money on album sales, tickets would be less??

Nope not at all, artists of this calliber are already paid, Sting and Paul Simon have deals that they are paid regardless of what the album does with advances etc... Tours are more for the labels to recoup the losses they have putting out albums now. Fans are taking the brunt of it mainly because of ticket brokers run wild, stub hub and things like that were people are almost buying tickets now just to sell and make $$ themselves and its legal. People do this all the time now, i know people who buy a package of tickets for say a baseball team, 10 games for a set price then sell them at stub hub as seperate games, its like ebay for tickets. As i said i cant see spending that kind of money and sitting in the nosebleeds or even if you have floor seats in an sporting arena, those shows suck at the end of the day compared to small venues.

Last time I saw Sting we had great seats but the group behind us wouldn't shut up.

Kept passing their phones around to compare their vacation photos and talking about

their trip. I don't get paying for tickets so you can socialize with your friends.
