Prince mentioned in Adel Tawil's smash hit "Lieder"

Adel Tawil, one of germanies most popular pop singers gives props tu his musical idols in his new song "Lieder". Purple Rain and When Doves Cry are mentioned several times and the cover art appears on his t-shirt in the promo video.

You can watch it here:

http://www.universal-music.de/adel-tawil/videos/detail/video:330439/lieder

http://www.myvideo.de/watch/9254913/Adel_Tawil_Lieder

The song is a big hit in germany, austria and switzerland. It's on heavy rotation at radio stations and I see the video almost daily on tv.

Here is a list of all artists / songs mentioned:

Ok, wer's mag ..... Musikalisch war P wohl weniger Einfluss?! Text usw. reissen mich nicht vom Hocker. Typisch Deutsch! Typisch uebertrieben! Neo-Dramatic! Wuerg!

.

(Entschuldigung, Deutsch ist 'ne Fremdsprache für mich)

I don't want your rhythm without your rhyme

Thank you for the hook up, Serious! Of course, it's so much easier to communicate in your native language when you know your counterpart is German as well. But I understand. If everybody in here would do that we would get lost in translation. chatterbox

Yes, a few of Jan's trax go into that direction. But only a few, unfortunately. Though he is a good DJ. Check out his soundlcoud page and you will find a little surprise! As for Adel & Annette, I dont really care if they put their heads together again or not. Maybe a "FunKey" co-producer at their side would help. Someone like Michael Fakesch from Munich or Berlin resident Snax. stirthepot

Jan is a good live artist too (who does a bit of Prince music as well sometimes) because he has a whole lot of energy on stage IMO.
And while I am not that familiar with Adel's work with A. Humpe I really feel the song "Stark" but that may be for personal reasons....

Sorry, for a tiny little moment I have forgotten that not only Germans speak German, haha ... But how can it be that Prince fans are available in the cosy republic of Austria? On the other hand, you have the Hot Pants Road Club, dont you? So there must definitely be some Funk between the mountains wink

Yes, Jan is good live. Same goes probably for Adel, but I rather dont try it out, not until he pleases all of my musical needs.

No, this is what I meant:

When he sings about Hendrix' Voodoo Chile, you see a picture of a voodoo doll with needles in it.

I'm sorry, but you're wrong. They clearly show this picture:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/When_Doves_Cry

It's the cover of the when doves cry single. makes more sense in the context, doesn't it? wink

We are not that many here but we exist wink lol.
Yeah we have the Hot Pants Road Club I have seen them numerous times over the years, last time was on NYE biggrin . BTW their lead singer Andi Gabauer was the singer for a ballet to Prince music many years ago.
