If Your Favorite Artists Penned A Song For Someone In Another Genre

I mean COMPLETELY other genre.

For example if Stevie Wonder wrote a song for Garth Brooks, if Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue wrote a song for Aretha franklin, If Ice Cube wrote a song for Bjork etc.

Would it be successful? do you think it could work?

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

All music is shit music and no music is real- gunsnhalen

I'd like to see Raphael Saadiq pen something for a hardrock band à la Living Colour

Depeche Mode writing for Metalica
Prince writing for Laurie Anderson
Marilyn Manson writing for Rick Astley
Sinead O'Connor writing for Miley Cyrus
Giorgio Moroder writing for Kenny G
Kraftwerk writing for Elton John

For better, for worse I'd love to hear these.

Donna Summer (along with husband Bruce Sudano) wrote the song Starting Over Again which became a number one country hit for Dolly Parton in 1980. Donna never actually recorded the song herself, but did perform it in shows. Although she probably didn't write specifically for Dolly, I do recall an old interview Donna gave in which she mentioned moving to Nashville and writing songs for country artists. She specifiically mentioned She Works Hard For the Money could be reworked as a country song.
