The American Music Awards 2013. Did you watch?

I enjoyed watching the show yesterday. Jennifer Lopez did a great performance/tribute to Celia Cruz.

I half watched it.

I kept going back and forth between the AMAs and Bar Rescue.

Saw Jlo and thought she was pretty good except for the thousand & one dancers.

Although I did like when they would block her so she could do costume changes on the stage.

Miley Cyrus performed - she was great. Ariana Grande won for New Artist, she performed - She sings beautifully. Christina Aguilers performed w/ A Great Big World. Katty Perry did a great performance. Lady Gaga and R. Kelly performed. I like their new song. In my opinion, the show was very good.

Hell no! And besides, the AMA hasn't been the same after 1993 at least.

Pretty awful. But then again, I'm not a teenager so I know nothing about the flavor of the week. But here are my thoughts:

Pitbull should not host awards shows.

Rihanna - an ICON award???

TLC should not perform live anymore.

Lady Gaga/R.Kelly was decent.

Sara Silverman was the highlight for me.

1: Because I said so. 2: I've already seen to warning signs that the show was going downhill since 1993, hence more reasons why I don't take award shows too seriously. My professional opinion. F*** the AMA. End of story.

The AMA's are the popularity contest. Always have been.

I watched the performances-Miley did a good job -just minus the cheesy early 80's vibe video background.

And R. kelly just comes off pervy and not in a cool way.

The show was ok.

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

What were the first signs that it was going downhill?

Boy Bands?

BRITNEY?

Lip syncing?

Did anyone over the age of 25 win an award?? eek

Me thinks the Music Industry can be accused of age discrimination.

AMAs were created by Dick Clark.

The winners are chosen based on sales,

airplay and social media activity.

Yeah it's a popularity contest.

Is that a bad thing?

It's just an excuse to have a TV show.

Correct me if i'm wrong (i really am unsure) arent the AMA's just based off of "votes" now?

My source for the AMAs is Wikipedia so I could be wrong.
