Kanye West‘s Yeezus might not have earned the kind of first week sales that people boast about—327,000 to be exact—but he’s more than made up for it in the recent months.

According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), Kanye’s latest album has gone Platinum after seven months.

This means that’s all seven of his albums—The College Dropout (2004), Late Registration (2005), Graduation (2007), 808s & Heartbreak (2008), My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2010), Watch the Throne (2011) and Yeezus—have officially all gone platinum.

With seven Platinum records, Kanye is now tied with other hip-hop acts such as OutKast, LL Cool J, Beastie Boys, Snoop Dogg and Nas. Jay Z currently holds the record for most Platinum albums for a rapper with an unprecedented 15.

But Kanye (and every other artist in the world) has a long way to go before he becomes the artist with the most Platinum records, a title that The Beatles currently hold with 41.

Though he’s not the Platinum God just year, it is a bright spot in a week where he is in the news for filing suit against the new digital currency that uses his likeness, Coinye West, and being investigated for misdemeanor assault charges after allegedly punching a man who was harassing his fiancée Kim Kardashian.

Congrats to Kanye for going platinum for the 7V3Nth time with no hit single! Its proven yet again that you don't need a hit single to go platinum. Just a loyal following like Beyonce...

You do know that Black Skinhead was in a few commercials? and a movie trailor for The Wolf Of Wall Street. That single had TONS of exposure. And Bound went to number 12 thanks to the awful music video.

Kanye had tons of exposure from singles and his crazy attitude.

I do love Yeezy (and i love some tracks on Yeezus, while others like i'm in it are shit on a stick) But he had TONS of promotion. Yeah, his album came out without a single. But Black Skinhead being in a trailer for Nike... that aired everyday in the summer... and also in a movie trailer for one of the biggest films of the year. Which also happens to a golden globe winner! Kanye is no fool... he sold his shit to a lot of people.

He tries to say ''no coropoartion can own me'' yet he does deals with Nike, Movie Trailers, and Ellen fucking Degeneres. Plus his crazy interviews, having the confederate flag on his shirt, a performance on SNL & the MTV music video awards (More huge exposure)

If Kanye REALLY wanted to at least pretend he was trying. He could have done the shit like with the MBDTF era. No interviews, release a great album, singles do decent, and shut your mouth.

I think Yeezus had more exposure then his last album ever did...

Even though 'Yeezus' is his weakest output, good for him. He is still a very talented dude.

Eh, that was a collab album. I mean his solo work &not Cruel Summer bullshit either lol

I have lost a little bit of respect for Yeezy. When he made such a big deal about coroparatons ''not cntroling him'' and they hate black people and yada yada. Yet he sells deals left and right... and his song for trailers and commercials. And makes HUGE bucks off them.

Yeah, you're so underground and hardcore Kanye.

I swear Kanye was in a much better mindset in the MBDTF era. He had so much backlash.. even Obama called him a jackass lol He had something to prove. So he made what is imo and others a masterpiece and his best album. And, he did it with no interviews, and releasing free songs from GOOD Friday every week. THAT was when yeezy was hungry and was an exciting time to be a fan.

2013? it was exciting for a few months. Then he started interviews every other week... each one he trolls more and more. And, then that horrible music video. 2013 Yeezy was all about money, that ass, oh and the baby i guess.
