  1. Prince

It’s hard to put into words, the magnitude of being contacted by your musical idol. Then to hear that they really dig what you’re doing. Man, words just arnt enough.

I’m extremely humbled and proud of the fact that PRINCE and his management got in contact with me.

Despite not being on the radio, not being a ‘buzz’ act, not selling out venues, playing bars to crowds of about 10 people for 2 years.. Im still 100% confident in my music and there’s no greater reassurance of my what I’m doing than this.

    Thanks Prince.

I think his sound is his own, dont really like the Prince comparison though can hear little influence of him, there are alot of new alternative / industrial funk influence in this.

Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

Chromeo, Futurecop!, Tesla Boy and a few others have been doing the 80s revival thing for quite a while now.

This stuff is way too full of different elements to have much to do with Prince's approach in the 1980s.

Very cool! Thanks for sharing. You can definitely hear the Prince influence in his music.

The fact that P (or better yet, his people) reached out to him is super cool!

Yes, it's impressive. I don't really hear much of a Prince influence there except that it sounds like 80s music and how "in your face" the guitar playing is.

I've played this track a while on repeat and I like it because it's not 80s style music done as a "joke". I was quite disappointed in the new Chromeo tracks that I've heard from their upcoming album, as they're starting to become parodies of themselves ("Sexy Socialite"?).

Me too. It's highly addictive. Especially this live version.

Not bad. I'll wait to hear more before comparing him to the greats. I got pretty excited when John Legend came around, but my fervor waned. Give them a chance to develop before declaring the second coming. smile

I think Business Casual is their best (and most funky) album, a total and awesome 80's throwback in the best possible way.

I'm sorry. His stuff sounds like throw away tracks you would hear on an 80s movie soundtrack. I'm talking Brenda K Star or Timex Social Club. Have things gotten so bad that we are elevating music now that would been considered middle of the road in the 80s? I'll admit he has some guitar and keyboards skills but so do a thousand musicians on youtube and bandcamp.
