Chrisette Michele and Leela James Join 'R&B Divas L.A.'

Chrisette Michele and Leela James are the newest additions to TV One's R&B Divas L.A. The two solo artists will be joining returning cast members Chante Moore, Lil Mo, Michel'le and Claudette Ortiz.

“As we gear up to shoot season two, we anticipate that the addition of two lovely and respected solo artists, Chrisette and Leela, will build upon the impassioned, ever-evolving group dynamic that season one viewers embraced," said D’Angela Proctor, SVP Programming and Production, TV One.

The show's second season will begin fliming this month in Los Angeles and will air in the first half of 2014. What do you think of the new additions?

Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman

I'm kind of surprised by these two joining. It seems a bit too soon, especially Chrisette Michelle. I thought this show was more for artists with a "history" in the music business and for whatever reason, they've stepped away from the spotlight. These two seems a bit too current but I'll watch either way. It should be interesting.

The show probably need Divas on there that are still getting air-play..Chrisette is still growing on a lot of people that are discovering her and I hope she doesnt agree to play the "witch" role....

I'm just happy that Kelly Price won't be a part of the show this season lol She was really nasty and mean-spirited last season. She's nothing but drama!

yeahthat I stopped watching during mid season because the show bored me to pieces, but I'm a fan of Chrisette Michele and love Leela James' voice. Hopefully, being on the show won't damage their reps.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I can't imagine why she would do it. Reality tv is pretty much the last stop on a career track.

I don't like that Reality TV has gone Global but a lot of Entertainers that have a project to sell will gladly do 1 or more seasons of a Reality show. Videos were all the rage in the 80's and most thought radio was done. Hip-Hop began reigning Supreme in the 90's. The Internet and the Cell phone took off in the late 90's and BLEW up in 2000. You gotta remember all this new mainstream shit isn't that old....Mega Super-Stars tend to stay away from Reality TV because their Brand sells itself. The Entertainment landscape is populated with Artists like Chrisette that need TV time in some way....Getting her on Leno & Letterman is probably next to impossible...

Well, that's sad that she would have to make a fool of herself on reality tv to get some exposure for her career. These shows are about setting people up to look like idiots.

You're 100% correct, Reality shows geared towards Female Stars or just Women period are hyped for "cat fighting" and Foolish behavior by women who would normally not want the Public to see them in that light. You gotta admit we've seen some brite sides to Reality TV...BET's "The Family Cruise" was my all-time-favorite and always on-point, Monica's Reality show was decent, Gospel Divas Mary, Mary & The Braxtons are well received, People Love "Duck Dynasty". TV is still the Greatest vehicle to promote anything. Especially now that we can watch TV on our cell phones.

****************************************************************************

TV1's FIRST Reality show "Living it with Patti LaBelle"was the PERFECT Formula for a veteran of her caliber. She promoted her current CD's and Tour dates, She Sang, Cooked, Interviewed her Celeb Friends, Dignitaries & Soldiers, Talked with Folks on the Street, Mentored Divas in training, showed you her Concerts behind the scenes. Patti had FULL control over her show. Miss Patti doesnt get credit but she showed ALL her fellow Entertainers how a Reality show should be done and how the content should be more than just BLING. The Cameras followed her for 4 seasons. She's a Class act and I see why Beyonce, Prince and other Artists look up to her.

Yes. Remember she talked about it on Divas. It's a show that's similar to Idol or the Voice, but it's for overweight people to showcase their acting.

She's been on Lance Bass' show on XM twice this year and she's mentioned it both times. It sounds interesting.
