def a Gorgeous Sista...."Cover Girl" did right by picking her to do their commercials....I'm glad y'all posted pics of her with her hair down...I get so tired of seeing her in th suits & packed down hair....She's even Sexier with her hair down....I like that she has her own "vision" of how she see's herself but doing something different every blue moon won't hurt her..

U know...its strange. I loooove female musicians....they really turn me on...mentally and sexually. Chicks with guitars or sitting at pianos make me go schwing. Shery crow, alicia keys, paramore, joan jett, emile sande...scwing schwing schwing.

This chick has much going for her...she is beautiful, a musician, dedicated artist, a progressive thinker, into sci-fi. VERY physically attractive...

...but when i see her, i dont think "i wanna bang her." She isnt sexually attractive to me. Your post(above) made me realize this...aswo nderful and beautiful and attractive(in more than 1 way) as she is, images of her dont end up in my spank bank...that is strange....

lol true but this is also valid for her music! she sure is her own persona..she doesn't really care about what is popular at the moment, she makes the music she wants to make..she's making a series of concept albums in 2013!I wrote something about this in another thread yesterday...I wish that the masses could give her the great success she deserves( she deserves more than beyonce imo as an artist) while doing the good music she made until now..the problem is that she is way too much creative for a black artist..I saw even some reviews saying this that janelle's creativity is kinda of a problem( scandalous because it shouldn' be like this it should be the opposite in an ideal world) if she was white it would be totally different.. her marketing would be way more easier.because janelle has been marketed since she came on the scene to black audiences while black audiences aren't really her market territory.they only listen to generic R&B and hip hop( and dance pop like rihanna, beyonce etc)..she should have been sold more to white audiences( especially for metropolis and the archandroid) but since she is black you know how it works,,..but what really matters is that she isn't selling out...I respect her so much for this...

I found 2 pictures of janelle dressed in purple..I think it suits her...

Whats crazy is this broke guy could afford to bleach his skin too...or that he even had a motivation for it. I mean its undeniable...look at it..he obviously bleaches it...but why oh why.... *coughcoughnotsosubtlebullshitcoughcough*

Ive been accused of bleaching my skin and the only bleach i touch is when i swim or do laundry. Dont be jealous of a light skinned sister.

I think the problem with beyonce is how she presents herself: blond straight wigs, nose jobs to make it smaller, photoshops to make her look lighter a lot of times..etc..but the biggest problem for me is her bad music lol ..anyway..

I love her retro outfit here its sooo cute and she looks so beautiful! I wish she wear her hair out more

I know alot here blame Janelle as the reason for why she isnt as popularity (which I think is bullshit). I'll admit part of it is because of Diddy's awful managmenet (which I am starting to believe he is doing on purpose... but thats for a another discussion) and of course Janelle's music overall is not for mass consumption (although this isnt the main reason for her lack of popularity because she does have catchy songs that could have easily been popular if promoted properly). Janelle's problem is much bigger than the type of music she makes. Its a problem that unfornately affects alot of other artists as well and a problem that is "out of her control". Its a calculated industry thing. I truly believe there are certain artists the industry is instructed to only promote. It has been this way for some time now (at least within the last decade). The industry is not what it use to be. If this was the 80's, Janelle would be one of the more popular acts now (of course not mj, madonna, prince big) but she would be on the radio... no question. Its just sad that music has came down to this and what is even more mind blowing is that they have brainwashed young people into believing that the mediocre crap that they hear on the radio is "good". Its all a corporate brain wash and it oddly works for most people. Its quite scary to be amongst people that are so easily manipulated and fooled into beliving everything they hear or feeding into whats "popular at the moment" Different strokes for different folks I get... but its just sad that the industry purposely x out alot of creative artists to promote the cookie cutter shit.

*****************************************************

Janelle could be orange, white, blue etc she still would have the same problem because there are alot of great white artists that are not as popular either for the same reason ex. Jack White. Color doesnt matter to me but as a black woman I am just thrilled that we have this amazing, talented, electric, beautiful black woman who dares to be different, dares to be HERSELF regardless of what the masses think or how popular she is. It irks me to read comments here sometimes about folks thinking she is "trying to hard". She is just BEING HERSELF.. people so use to the cookie cutter they cant tell the difference between someone who is sincerely different versus someone who is looking for attention, sad. I dont think EVERYTHING she has done has been perfect but damn... I am definitly going to give her mad props for at least trying to be artistic and creative. I love and respect her for that. We need to support artists like her because there are not alot young artists like her. Ive looked at interviews where she just talks about her inspirations and life... she is a very interesting person and I think it all comes from a "sincere" place unlike 95% of pop acts out today.

I know yes totally people are really brainwashed .because it isn't possible that every time you have a good artist and a shitty one the shitty one is always the one gaining more attention...and that's because the industry is givin promotion to the people they WANT to be more successful..I know about this and you're right..by the way I think Jack White and Janelle Monae are 2 of the most talented artists of this new century...but I think for her being black adds a lot of problems because being that kind of artist that she is being black sure not helps her..you see way more " excentric" white artists similar to her than blacks ....I don't think I ever saw a black female artist like janelle tbh...the world is not ready lol
