What's Patti LaBelle Up to These Days? Has anyone heard what Patti LaBelle is up to these days? The 69-year-old's website only shows a few tour dates in November and there is no "news" feature. Perhaps you have heard if she's working on a new CD or something? (BTW, she sure is pushing her hot sauce on her site however.)

She was on The Tonight Show last month. This video is not good quality. But it might be on the NBC website. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Yuck. Hopefully she has retired. She is a screaming meenie and would destroy jazz stylings.

Who knows? Maybe she's semi-retired. She seems to be at this point.

Prince would def put you in check for that comment...That's not my opinion that is a FACT...He's protective of her. He produced music for her & recorded vocals for her past work because he Loves her voice. When you're in the King's Kingdom be very careful when you insult his dear friends..

I was just thinking that, like, twenty years ago, she and Prince were favorite guests on the Arsenio Hall Show. It would be great to see them (and Sheila E.) return as guests!

It might be worth checking out. I remember the song she did years ago with Grover Washington Jr, The Best Is Yet To Come. It sounded pretty good to me.

Yeah and she also covered "Lover Man" on I'm in Love Again. When she tones down the gospel, she does a really good job with the secular stuff.
