Low Winter Sun Theme - Bettye LaVette

Hopefully the whole track will show up soon...

...Hustlin' In The Motor City

Props to music supervisor Gabe Hilfer for being aware of this obscure gem (written by Lester Abrams) and including it the recent episode.

L.A. Carnival...

I'm kind of a late bloomer when it comes to Bettye. I've known of her since the 90s when I saw her a TV show performing an incredible version of "Damn Your Eyes". It was finally released on a Live CD a few years later. Didn't really start digging deeper into her catalog until last year's "Thankful & Thoughtful".music

One of those singers with a unique voice that never became mega-famous for a number of strange reasons.
But she built a career by constant performing, persevering and being good every night.
Just never got the big break. Or as promo for her autobiography states, A life lived across the tracks from fame.
