Quincy Jones - Slow Jams - SWV Version vs Tamia Version

To this day, I don't know why this track was re-recorded, removing SWV's vocal and adding Tamia.

Something got lost in the translation, I feel the first version (SWV) is so much better than the re-recorded version. The drums are different as well.

It's a shame that folks are discovering this tune, will never be able to purchase the orginal track.

Which one do you like?

ORGINAL

RE-RECORDED w/Tamia

I agree! I have the SWV version since I bought Q's Juke Joint the day it came out. I was surprised when the single came out, and they replaced them with Tamia.

But, I assume Q was trying to give Tamia some more publicity, since she was his newest protege at the time.

I hate most people won't know the SWV version. It was replaced on future pressings of the albums.

You're not talking about "Slow Jam" by Midnight Star?

We're talking about "Slow Jams" written by Rod Temperton and produced by Quincy Jones in 1995 for Q's Juke Joint.

I know exactly what you all are refering to. I just prefer, Midnight Star's take on the subject.
