Am I the only one who remembers a different version of this song that's NOT the one with the "I'll take you there" sample.different chorus too.

There were 2 different maxi singles (US) with several remixes.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

You might be talking about the Super Crispy mix. I can't find the whole version on Youtube, but here's part of it.

I found a complete version. It had a different title.

Yes that's it! .I always thought this was the original and the other was the remix since this is the version I had heard first back in the day .

In some cases, the radio stations would play the remix instead of the album version, and the music videos would have the remix too. There used to be a local radio station that would mostly play the long versions of remixes.

Based on my local radio stations and MTV/BET, I believe the R&B stations (and BET) tended to play the remix while the Hot 100 stations (and MTV) played the album version.

I was talking about remixes in general, not just this song.

I know, but I was adding that bit about this song in particular. wink

It's about time for songs that open up discussion for safer sex to be back in style. I've been listening to TLC's debut, and I think between that and "Let's Talk About Sex", and maybe some Madonna shit, no one's been really making people talk about the importance of condoms in 20 years.
