Guitarist Wayne Johnson has always had an interesting approach to composition, and His Jazz /Rock group, The Wayne Johnson Trio always reflected that sense of adventure. They released a number of albums in the 80's and early 90's, and got a lot of sound from three musicians. It was especially kool when they were joined by Lori Perri and her sisters, the GospelJazz/R&B quartert Perri! ... an interesting mix of sounds and styles....and of course constantly shifting time signatures, LOL!!

...

The Wayne Johnson Trio :

Wayne Johnson - Guitars, Guitar synthesizer, vocals

Jimmy "Flim Johnson - Electric Bass

Bill Berg - Drums

...

Perri: -

Lori, Sharon Darlene and Carol Perri - Vocals

...

The Wayne Johnson Trio - Spirit of the Dancer

...

...

The Wayne Johnson Trio - Everybody's Painting Pictures

...

Perri - Airstream ( Pat Metheny)

...with Wayne Johnson - Guitar Synth

...

Perri! Not that's a name you don't hear much. I wonder what happened to those singing sisters?

Wayne & Tommy Emmanuel doing a couple of Beatles tunes...

Perri still show up occasionally as background vocalists on recording dates...

The Yellowjackets, featuring Jean Baylor and Perri - 'The Hope'

Lori Perri (Lori Perry) also records solo albums...often with her sisters providing backing vocals

OK, so it looks like they're not really functioning as "Perri" any longer.

I know George Michael uses Lori often as one of his regular background folks.

Nice to see some folks around here finally giving some love to one of the most talented, under-appreciated groups of all time! I've been a huge fan of Perri for the past 25 years.
