New Jaheim CD On September 3rd!

After a long hiatus, R&B super crooner Jaheim presents his 2013 album, aptly entitled, Appreciation Day. With a history of hit making, Jaheim is anxious to get back to his fans, "It's been so long since I've had a chance to create music from my heart for the fans that have loved and supported me from the start. I decided to call the project Appreciation Day because that's exactly what this album is. My show of appreciation to them."

No stranger to personal loss and struggle, Jaheim promises to make Appreciation Day more than just the name of an album, but an invitation for him and his fans to show those that mean the most to them, how much they care. "It's a feel good album with very special messages hidden in every song. I'm looking forward to this journey with my fans."

One thing I can say about Jaheim is, unlike his contemporaries, IMO, he always delivers a solid record. He knows where his strengths are and he knows his voice is what's going to make people pay attention. He doesn't need to act like a child, chase trends, sing about smut and sound like he's 19 years old. That's one of the things I love about him.wink

I think he's okay, better that most of the R&B garbage that is churned out today, but when folks was comparing him and labeling him as the next Teddy Pendergrass...I had to object. As kit said, Jaheim doesn't have the voice of a little boy (which is great), but Teddy Pendergrass...he is not.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Although Jaheim's main musical influence was Luther, he gets compared to Teddy because he has that deep, rich, sexy, sultry voice love2 and he sings with passion and conviction. On the male side of contemporary R&B, that type of singer is virtually non-existent on the Billboard charts.

He makes a good tune here and there but I never thought he made

complete good albums. I have a copy of the cd he did years ago

with Fabulous and Put That Woman First. IMO those were the only good 2

songs on it. My main issue with his music is that he always feel he has to identify

with the hood in his music and initially when he came on the scene I guess it was okay for him but now that he's older and more advanced in the game he shouldn't feel the need to do it.

disbelief Respectfully disagree with you. I do, however, believe that Jaheim has his own distinct sound, which is great.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

He's just being and staying true to himself. He's not Johnny Mathis, which is fine with me. biggrin
