which albums have or have not grown on you ?

one album that i wasnt keen on at first was 'self portrait' by bob dylan, i dont think it was generally

well recieved as it contained quite a few covers which was pretty much unheard of for dylan in those days, but now i think its a very good album, i suppose dylan knew he would get a bit of flak but he stuck to his guns and released it, an album that has never grown on me is led zeppelin three, i

thought zppelins first two albums were great but three was a big dissapointment obviously a lot of other people felt the same, every now and then i give zep 3 a play just to see if i might like it but

so far it never gets any better for me , although immigrant song is ok, so which albums have or have

not grown on you ?

Miles Davis Bitches Brew had to grow on me. You have to sit for it, and learn to apreciate it at least thats my experience.

And as much as i am a Marvin Gaye fan, i cant like Midnight Love. Its to plastic to me ...

Miles: "Kind Of Blue" went from a blank stare reaction to my fave recording of all time.

Meshell Ndegeocello's "Bitter" continues to make me ILL tho. Hate it.

I was pleasantly surprised by Self Portrait when I got around to listening to it. It was way better than the general critical consensus led me to expect. I haven't gotten the new Bootleg Series release, Another Self Portrait, which is based on sessions from around that time (and the expanded version includes the original album, remastered I assume). Kind of hyped for it.

er

I'm a big Dylan fan, but I haven't got Another Self Portrait yet. (it's an expensive release!) but I guess when I do all the pieces of the puzzle will fall into place. Going back to his roots, forgetting about the "protest songs", that's what he wanted.
Getting back to the artist this site is all about, funny thing is that I haven't changed my mind about any of his albums. The ones I loved at first (Purple Rain, Lovesexy) I still love, the ones I didn't like (D&P, Rave) I still don't like.
