Good to see the public starting to see through this circus clown.

I don't follow these things anymore, but are there any good female pop artists under the age of 30? Do the songwriters exist to provide them with genuinely great material?

Which is why I'm more in Katy's corner than caca's. Katy gets that shes just a pop star going out and entertaining, she has a positive message of empowerment of self while being fun and enjoyable.

Caca just tries to hard to be an artist by way of promotion and it aint working. She has talent but she's too blantent in her stealing which doesn't work when you are trying to impress the hipsters.

Agree! And Katy does not take herself too seriously whereas Gaga is going on about her music being art. It's disposable EDM with a few clever hooks but in no way is it art!!

Anything can be art.

she suffers from the madonna syndrome imo. we know she can sing and write a good melody,

but she choses to burry whatever semblance of a melody she creates under so many layers of

horrible production that all the life is drained out of her songs.

.

people like to dance and people like to listen to a catchy pop song, but what people like more

is something that has an actual, beautiful melody, a strong hook and some sincerity. lyrics an

audience can relate to, or at least something a bit more thought provoking. and if it's just goof

lyrics than at least have them be just that without taking yourself too serious -like she did on

her first album. most songs on that one are still better than what she did with her last album.

and it sounds like this new album won't improve on them either.

.

the clips of her performing "the fame" songs solo on piano were infinately more interesting and

beautiful than anything she's done since. sometimes less is more. especially with dance songs

and their overbearing production these days.

I know this is the conventional wisdom about Lady Gaga, but I've never been that impressed with her songs when it's just her at the piano. To me, she's not a strong enough pianist to really pull that off, like Tori Amos. I like her dance stuff, but not so much Applause which is kind of a weak song. I think she should keep doing dance but write stronger songs. I know everyone thinks acoustic is more artistic or sincere, but I personally find acoustic super stripped down tracks a little dull. There's a place for acoustic organic music, but that doesn't mean it's for everyone. There should also be a place for electronic more produced stuff. It all depends on the melody and the hook of the song, if that is good. I know production gets a bad name but I enjoy more slick produced things because there are more sounds and levels to hear. I just personally have never been that wild about super stripped down acoustic music. One or two songs like that on an album is nice, but a whole album of that is to me just dull. But I know it's the conventional wisdom that acoustic/organic is always good and electronic produced is always bad which to me is too simplistic.

[Edited 8/17/13 8:38am]

i agree with what you're saying and i think i kind of expressed myself a bit vague

in my initial post because i don't really want her to make an acoustic album with

just her at the piano. but going on those performances, i just meant to say that i

expected more from her in the field of songwriting or creating melodies or hooks

that are more memorable and solid.

i like that she does dance music and i wouldn't want her to change direction this

soon in her carreer.

but her dance music sounds so harsh and brutal and there is very little beauty in

it, imo.

albums like "ray of light" or "body talk" are pure dance but they are infinately more

interesting because they have super great songs with beautiful melodies and some

wicked hooks.

You would think she has heard this enough times that she might release something more acoustic or organic.

.

I think part of Adele's success was that her backing tracks did NOT sound like they were being beamed down from the Starship Enterprise.

I see this isn't what you meant at all. You just expected her dance music to be written more beautifully.

Now, if everything this article is saying is true (and there are links to more reliable sources in the article) than Gaga is pathetic. Having your fans offer sex in order to increase your sales? Artificially boosting chart position by telling your fans to keep refreshing youtube views? This is absolutely revolting. Even Mariah Carey wouldn't do this.

Oh, how I miss Donna Summer:(

Lady Gaga Twitter Feud Continues: Pop Singer Accuses Perez Hilton of Trying to Stalk Her

Lady Gaga, Perez HiltonAll Access Photo/Splash News, Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images for LOGO

Lady Gaga went from ARTPOP to poppin' off on Twitter this weekend.

After getting into a feud with Perez Hilton on the social media website on Friday, Mother Monster continued to type with purpose and put her shouty capitals to use today after a fan informed the singer that Hilton was spotted at her apartment building.

Gaga allegedly confirmed that detail with security and proceeded to tweet Perez, "STAY AWAY FROM ME + MY FAMILY YOU ARE SICK TRYING TO RENT AN APARTMENT IN MY BUILDING TO STALK ME. LEAVE ME ALONE!!!"

PHOTOS: Lady Gaga in V Magazine

She continued, "DO I NEED TO BE SHOT IT IN THE HEAD FOR PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND THAT HIM AND EVERYONE ELSE THAT HARASSES ME HAS GONE TOO FAR? IM A HUMAN BEING...I just wantto make music+make people smile. Im sorry to all the fans who are trying to enjoy whats suppose to be a happy time. Gone too far."

Perez didn't immediately respond to Gaga's tweets (though he did do so later, see update below). But the gossip columnist retweeted some posts from Joseph Kahn, who also faced the wrath of Lady Gaga's monsters after giving praise to Katy Perry's "Roar."

"I am over Gaga's fan base behavior. Race insults, death threats, homophobic slurs. I've never seen such awfulness on behalf of any singer," Kahn tweeted, which Perez reposted.

WATCH: Check out the lyric video for Gaga's "Applause"

On Friday, Gaga slammed the celebrity blogger, who openly shared his distaste for the singer's music (and his approval for Katy Perry's).

"Still have the text Perez sent me of me in a wheelchair w the words KARMA written across + Madonna pointing a gun at me. Day of my accident," Gaga said.

She followed with, "Please monsters do not be affected by someone like this NOTHING merits this kind of hatred. Im ok & I always survive. Ignore him. Just Dance."

Maybe a dance battle is the solution here?

UPDATE: Perez Hilton released a statement regarding his feud with Lady Gaga: "My heart hurts that my former very good friend Lady GaGa, a person I used to call my 'wifey' and traveled the world with, is making very public and very untrue allegations about me on Twitter. While it is still too painful for me to go into detail about why I chose to no longer make her a part of my life, I will say that I am a critic and not a stalker.

"Any allegation that I am stalking her is utterly false, defamatory and now appear to be putting me in danger. I will continue to be a critic—in a way that is not mean or involves name-calling, and I will continue to have an opinion and talk about music and songs, like GaGa's "Applause." As the suggestion that I pose a danger to GaGa is preposterous, if fans want to send a message of support to her, they should buy her music instead of sending me death threats."

Lady Gaga then tweeted, "YOU ARE A LIAR I KEPT EVERY PSYCHOTIC TEXT U SENT TO MY PHONE," and then continued to vent.

Prompting Perez to respond several more times.

Somehow, we don't think it's going to end there.

I think Gaga's pissed:

I’ve said this to the fans time and time again, whether it be in person or in tweets, as well as the through the message and campaign of the Born This Way Foundation. My mother and I are passionate about tolerance, acceptance, and kindness, and I’ve made it a point early in my career to make it known that this is what I stand for as an artist.

While it may be difficult at times to hear the things that people say and write about me, or the nature of the industry that builds us up to tear us down, I feel the need to address you all here on behalf of the Born This Way Foundation.

Sending threats of any kind, using hateful or abusive language, and the provoking of others on the internet is not supported by me or anything that I stand for. What I’ve seen transpiring is wrong and upsetting to me, and I’ve made it very clear how I feel about equality and compassion.

I know how angry you feel sometimes, and I know that when they say things about me you feel that they are saying them about you as well. But music is about love, and is about sharing in the magic of theater. Although pop culture and society have become more negative and critical of the artist over the years, by engaging in this negativity you are allowing it to spread.

I ask you to take a pledge with me to continue the change toward positivity, and to recognize that this behavior is wrong. We are stronger than this. We know what we stand for, and what we stand for is bravery. I know this because what I see on the internet is not what I see at my shows. People deal with their insecurities in many different ways. The anonymous nature of social media has made it easy for many to vent their anger by bullying others with no recourse or accountability. But this is not a healthy way to handle your emotions.

This is exactly what my mother and I aim to teach with the Born ThisWay Foundation. Promoting skill building and mental health awareness that provides another outlet for your feelings. Put it in your art, put it in your music, put it in your creativity. Stop the Drama, Start the Music.

I also ask that Twitter and other social media platforms support this effort to monitor and control abusive and threatening language, as I don’t know that I am powerful enough to stop it myself. Please represent me and our community with the values we cherish and live by.

I love you.

since people obviously aren't responsible and grown up enough to use

social media, i think they should be protected from themselves and a

mass gathering of fans or such in one place should be limited by some

means. like pop artists who have followers can't have people replying

to their messages, only read them.

i know that will never happen, but it probably should at this stage. not

just because of this whole gaga/perez drama but because of what has

been growing alarmingly fast -threats and bullying on an unprecedented

scale.

but as with everything else, a lot of people will have to be either very

seriously hurt, killed or kill themselves before some form of regulation

and monitoring is put into place.

it's obvious that we can't handle some of our freedoms. and although

that probably sounds totalitarian, i'd rather have no one benefits from

whatever user ease they have than people getting seriously hurt due

to the malignant growths that are infesting social media more and more.

naturally, the easiest way of dealing with this form a personal standpoint

is to simply not use twitter or discussion boards anymore. which i don't.

well, except for the org. but the org is pretty tame and well regulated in

comparison to other places.

in an economy where jobs are scarce, the whole field of internet and it's

virulant animosity is an untapped source of employment imo.

there should be people trained in this, and these anonymous shitheads

who sit at their computer issueing death threats and the like should be

listed and visited and given warnings/strikes for their behaviour, as they

would in real life if they walked up to someone and said "i'm going to

visit your house and kill you and your ugly kids".

I labelled Gaga as a hopeless phony the first time I ever saw a clip of her (on this very site). The ultimate in style over substance. Good riddance.

I thought this would be her "True Blue" album. All down-to-earth, classy, forgiving image. "Applause" doesn't quite fit that, but I had to shut that video off. Can't keep serving up offensive shit every album, unless she was trying to make Antichrist Superstar (Marilyn Manson's 2nd or 3rd album).

Lady Gaga has just released her 3rd "hate me" album in a row.

It was time for a softer reinvention that appeals to common folk.

Even Kanye West alternates between "Love me" and "hate me" albums:

-The College Dropout (Love me)
-Late Registration (hate me)
-Graduation (Love me)
-808s & Heartbreak (hate me)
-My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (Love me)

-Watch The Throne w/JAY Z (LOVE ME!)
-Yeezus (hate me)

Lady Gaga needs to release something much lighter in sound and visuals.
I feel like I am watching a satanic ritual with her new video.
