I've came to my conclusion she's just the girl from detroit nobody can "fudge" with. No matter what she'll still be rich

I don't know her personally and I can only say that I've heard less than stellar things about her over the years. Vocally, she's no powerhouse, but I've been raised on all of her hits with The Supremes as well as her solo efforts and admit that I've always liked (most of) her vast body of work, my favorite being "Muscles." Whether or not she's what others say she is is of no importance to me as it's her "music" that matters. If I were a close friend, acquaintance or family member, THEN I could say otherwise. I found it rather comical that when Aretha was asked about her, her response was a calm, cool and reserved, "She's from Detroit. She's cool." Hmmm... As Duke Ellington was quoted in saying many years ago, "One never knows, DO one?"

As a Motown fan in general, I think they just have their own way of looking at things. Diana chooses to go forward, Mary occasionally looks back. I do think Mary played a part in why the Supremes reunion tour bombed the way it did in spite of Diana's actions, which was really the deal with SFX (aka Live Nation).

It's been a long time since I read ReRe's book but I don't think she says anything about Diana. The first time I heard ReRe say anything about Diana was during an ABC Motown special. All I remember is Aretha saying Diana had a "Soulful" voice. The clip might be somewhere on YouTube...

I don't know why I did that , carry on.

Being they were both at the same event and took photos together doesn't prove that they are good friends. People would have been buzzing if the two of them would have been avoiding each other all night. Of course they were going to be photographed together. Things may not be as strained as they once were for years. But, something tells me they aren't gossiping on the phone with each other and going on shopping sprees together.
