Erykah Badu on art vs. image, Prince's lyrics and Wu-Tang.

Erykah Badu's on the new Music Snobs Podcast.

She's actually as funny and pretty in-depth as the regular hosts are. I don't know why I'm surprised - she seems to have that vibe. She discusses her favourite lyrics (and the ones she'll never say out loud), Prince's image and lyrics, and how much she adores Ghostface Killah and Snoop Dogg.

Pretty funny - I hope they make it a regular thing.

Not bad. A couple of things that I thought caught my attention...Badu's comments on J Monet..that her image may be out performing her music...couldn't disagree more. In fact I'd say it's just the opposite. In fact I think her image is a direct reflection of the art. Black and white, like it or you don't but you ain't getting a peak of the goods and I'm not using sex appeal to draw you into the music.

As for their comments on "genius".. If GhostFace Killah and Trinidad James are considered musical genius..what in the hell are Stevie and Prince?

J monet.... did you mean Janelle Monae??? I didnt look at the interview yet.

Alot of the artists nowadays use the term genius to loosely.

No idea who Trinidad James is/are. Ghostface did All That I Got Is You (my go-to bawl -out track) and makes half-sensical rhymes flow awesome, so he qualifies in my humblest opinion. Wonder and Nicks are both dope. Prince is the man. He just gettin' on my nerves cuz my attention span is being tested. beg

For all time I am with you, you are with me.

They did a show (actually, 2 shows) on Prince - they really treat him as being a genius with the casual obviousness it deserves.
