Tyler, The Creator - Wolf

The first record from Tyler that I actually enjoyed almost from start to finish. Good music.

Treehome95 ft. Erykah Badu & Coco O.

Against the ruin of the world, there
is only one defense: the creative act.

Gunsnhalen

I really liked bastard, hated Goblin andsi far like quite a bit of this.

Tyler is good but i am sorry to say he still tries way to hard to ''shock'' people lol some lyrics are stupid whack and are almost on a LIL B trollin level of whack lol

But it is WAY better than Goblin from what i heard so far.

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

All music is shit music and no music is real- gunsnhalen

Gunsnhalen

Ok after a few more listens i dig some more tracks... domo23 took me awhile to really like cause on it's own sound slike Tyler bitching about bullshit lol but in the context of the album it works.

And Awkward grew on me as well cool

i hate to be ''that'' guy but i think My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy & to a lesser extent 808's and heartbreaks has led to a lot of hip-hop albums with rappers spilling out emotions.. and some r&b.

I can't help but think those albums had a play... afterwards we got Take Care & well pretty much all of Drake and his shit lol there was Camp by Childish Gambino, Channel Orange by Frank ocean & now Wolf Tyler, The Creator.

I like it cool

I have Wolf, but I have yet to give it a good listen. What I did notice on Goblin, though, is the manipulated, low voice that appears throughout the songs à la 1999 (the voice when the song starts) and "The Rainbow Children."

The other rap/hip-hop artist with a possible Prince influence is Madlib in his Quasimoto persona. He uses a 'Camille'-type voice on "The Unseen."

I don't know if anybody here would agree.
