Though you may not drive a great big Cadillac
Gangsta whitewalls, TV antennas in the back
You may not have a car at all
But remember brothers and sisters
You can still stand tall
Just be thankful for what you got.
Diamond in the back, sunroof top
Diggin' the scene with a gangsta lean

its Be Thankful For What You Got by William DeVaughn

Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman

But the song title is wrong too. If you put in Diamond In The Back, you get Ludacris as the performer.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

If the question was a serious one then NO, Mr. Mayfiled was not the artist of that song, that was William DeVaughn. As for mislabled and incorrect info for song titles, be glad that Limewire is no longer available, that site was replete with errors that I should have known better that to download bat alas, I too was dumb.Even better, the part you mentioned is just part of the chorus and not the name of the song. ENJOY!

There's someone on Youtube who has it labeled as Diamond In The Back by Curtis Mayfield and has Curtis' picture on it. Several people have told him/her the correct info, but they argue that's it's Curtis and leave it like it is, and then later blocked comments from being posted on the video.

That's no one issue but said poster/uploader, they are the true idiot.
