It's an unauthorized promotional item. I'm partial to the treatment given to "National Anthem".

Can't stand her. She treats herself more seriously than she is. Her voice is a bad version of Nancy Sinatra's, her production and music sounds practically the same on every track, and her lyrics are laughable.

My introduction to her was via Bobby Womack's album. IF & WHEN Bobby Womack invites anybody to join him in a recording booth, you know they're good.

But here's the thing that I don't understand, which is not related to music. She has to be THEE darling of tumblr, can somebody explain why?

You gotta watch the extended version with the monologue, that's the best. My favorite is her closing monologue

She's not recording with rappers. Her songs were blended with Jay-z's and put out in the form of an unofficial download.

OK, there's four things wrong with this:

"Mysterious"

"Awesome"

"Overpowering"

"Popularity"

lol

I get she did about 3 million in 2012 but... overpowering? Maybe among the hipsters but uh...yeah. lol

her music is atmostpheric. i'm an old bird, but her songs drag back all kinds of emotions from my angsty youth!

according to her wiki page, her musical genre includes 'chamber pop' & 'sadcore' .. lol

I really tried to like this chick. I got on her hard after SNL then late last year I decided to give her another chance. Listen to both releases and just not feeling her music. Decent production but her voice..her image is really her appeal..

She's absolutely wonderful to look at and her art direction is sick, but I have yet to be overwhelmed by anything she's recorded.

She's a fashion model who thinks she's a singer. She looks good but she's not talented imho.

The last thing I remember about Lana Del Rey was her biggest f*** up of her career thus far: performing live on Saturday Night Live! disbelief

That was the last time that I've strongly agree with the negative music critics on anything. lol This woman is so overrated AND overhyped.

8. Lana Del Rey "Ride"

8. Lana Del Rey "Ride"

Album: Paradise
Producer: Rick Rubin
Label: Polydor, Stranger, Interscope

Nostalgia, loneliness, and obsession weave through Lana Del Rey's "Ride" lyrics so perfectly over the heavy strings and piano melodies created by legendary producer, Rick Rubin. The pop ballad, which served as the first single from her Born to Die album's re-release, is filled with Del Rey's usual themes of daddy issues and addiction, but her ability to master her smoky vocals and heartbreaking lines like "I'm tired of feeling like I'm fucking crazy" brought a new level of vulnerability.

And somehow, it still feels like this record flew under the radar, but really, it ranks amongst the best work Lana's ever done. It's the song that proves her tremendous potential for longevity. "Ride" is so mature and progressive that it doesn't even feel like Lana was ever just a YouTube sensation. -LN

Shes as much of a singer as January Jones is an actress.

I like January in her role as the former Mrs. Don Draper. That icy demeanor and the undercurrent of bitterness are the things I find interesting about Betty.

Her music won't win any awards from me, but I have been listening to her fairly often recently and do give her credit for trying to create something different from the usual crap heard on radio these days. Yay Lana.
