Ebony has changed too. Nene was on the cover. I saw T.I. and Tiny on the cover, and flipped inside and saw Wiz & Amber. Yeah, this is a different Ebony and Jet from the Dr. King tributes, and stories on Civil Rights leaders.

Yeah,Ebony and Jet have really gone downhill.I don't read those magazines anymore. This is the kinda crap that Ebony writes about these days:

disbelief reality show stars disbelief this ain't the same Ebony that I grew up with

Been stopped subscribing. I use to subscibe to Jet, Ebony and Vibe and cut that mess out quick lol

Girl, I had Essence, Vibe, and Honey. One of my friends had Sister 2 Sister, but I can't do that one. They have to many reality people all up and through that one.

When I was a child I had a subscription to Ebony Jr. They always had kids of black celebrities in there, Muhammed Ali, Kareem, etc.

I personally don't care all that much for her shots. The reds in her polish and lipstick clash, they are not complementary to each other or to her pretty face. The ring on over the glove is not working here at all. The wig could be cute, but it gets crowded by all of the other visual stimulation. The accessories, from the jewlery and the scarf to the featured frames, wall paper and fabrics, are all so busy and yet fall flat - you really need to know what you are doing to make patterns in layers like that work. The apology needs to come from whoever put that look together.

And still, there was a course outlined to her, it seems. Stay the course, or respect the woman and give her a call to let her know.

I liked her new pics. What was wrong? Awww, Fannie. sad I feel bad for her.

Who still gets Ebony and Jet anyway? I only see them in 7-11's. It was your grandparents, or favorite auntie that had them lined up on the coffee table. razz

I still flip through Ebony and Jet in the barber shop, but that's about it.

JET has NEVER been $18 bucks a month....Why would they charge subscribers $18 a month when they can buy each magazine @ the strore for $2 a week ($8 bucks a month)....

Let's not over-stretch just because Fanny gave her "I have a Dream" rant on Twitter....

In the first 2 pics...she looks atrocious...in the third....the lighting is atrocious. I gudda done the same thing if I was jet. I realize Jet doesn't have the highest quality stuff going on....but if I was the editor, I wouldn't have put that trash on my cover either.

I wouldn't call it trash but I agree. The new pictures aren't very good. I like her old style much better. JET was really doing her a favor in my opinion. However, Fantasia has every right to be upset.

Well when I check the bank, it rounds up to $18 a month. I'm not talking about the Jets you can get for $3 at stores now. When you order and subscribe to a magazine, the price raises up.

Oh Whatever

ALL magazines make ALL women of color shades lighter on magazines.

The photo Jet used is actually lighter then the photos Fantasia wanted.

Fantasia Barrino has gotten justice for an insult. The singer received an apology from the editor of Jet magazine for a comment left on the editor’s personal Facebook page.

“The fact that I wasted an hour of my workday,” posted Mitzi Miller, the Editor-in-Chief of Jet, “writing a press release to address an issue created by a person who cannot even read it is just… #whyiwannaBahousewife.”

The problem stemmed from Barrino expressing her anger about Jet using an older photo of her for the cover. In response, Miller said that, while she was disappointed in Barrino’s displeasure with the cover, Jet stood by its decision to run the photo. Not long after the exchange, Miller posted her off-the-cuff comment.

Shortly after the website Madamenoire ran the comment, Miller issued a statement. “I apologize for the lack of sensitivity shown in my Facebook post,” wrote Miller. “It was a thoughtless comment made during a moment of frustration. It was unprofessional and not representative of the JET mission, which is to uplift. I regret letting my emotions get the best of me. I am truly apologetic.” At press time, there was no response from Fantasia on the matter.

That's what I was thinking. She looks like a hot mess in those new photos. It's too much, IMO. I prefer the old look, but I can see why she's upset.

I didn't know Jet was still in publication. I stopped reading both Ebony & Jet years ago, for the reasons SoulAlive stated.
