Good for Janelle for picking up the guitar and learning a few chords! I'm not mad at her. It's always good to see an artist put forth the effort to GROW. Especially with an instrument. I hope she sticks with it.

Maybe this year will be a breakout year for her. The stage is definitely set after being featured on the song of the year w/Fun. and performing live at last year's Grammys with Bruno Mars (current Grammy darling). I hope they have a great single lined up.

Oh....damn if she didn't remind me of Lauryn Hill Unplugged though. cool

^ Shes very interesting and creative on and off stage so dont know why she has not by now. She puts on really good shows and I was surprised she played an instrument as well. I hope this year will be her year. I read in the Grammy's thread that "Fun" did not acknowledge her when they won. eek They should have invited her to accept it with them since she was apart of the song!

She does need to blow up. Get this other trash off of the main culture stage and let Ms. Monae put on the show. The next few years hold great and untold treasure for Janelle Monae. What an exciting precipice her artistic life is. Will she make that $7.00 dress fly? Her voice has become stronger and more robust in the last few years in live performance. I want to swow dance with her.

You've probably seen this, Carousal, but since everyone is so raw about JTimbers covering some MJ - let's all enjoy this.

I love Janelle and I'm glad she's grown as a performer because I saw her 2 years ago and while I love her music, there was something that was missing, but she's slowly showing her inner strength as a performer. I do have to say that she seems more confident with a smaller crowd than on the festival show I saw her at, which is actually harder to do. I can't wait to see what she does next. I heard some rumors she was getting married and stuff, but they probably arent true lol...

I love that she's learning to play the guitar smile cool cool
