Boyz II Men Announces Yearlong Las Vegas Residency

Janaury 04, 2013

On New Year's Eve, Boyz II Men tweeted that they were heading to Las Vegas for poker and relaxation, and to make some big decisions for 2013.

On Thursday the group revealed what their big decision was, tweeting a photo from a press conference in Vegas, where they announced their yearlong residency at the city's Mirage Hotel and Casino.

"We’ve been dreaming of this day since we performed an extended holiday show two years ago in Las Vegas," Nathan Morris said in a statement. The group is "thrilled" to start 2013 with their special announcement, and "We can’t wait to take the stage in March and be a part of the Las Vegas community," Nathan adds.

The concert series will include 78 shows, which are all set to take place in the Terry Fator Theater at The Mirage, beginning on March 1.

Wanya Morris is thrilled with the deal, explaining, “You know, growing up in Philadelphia, singing music in the hallways and in the subway stations and the high schools, we could never have forecast this type of blessing.”

Once a quartet, Boyz II Men shrunk to a trio, with the departure of bass singer Michael McCary. He was not present when remaining members Shawn Stockman, Wanya and Nathan promoted the group's 2011 album Twenty, which stood as a celebration of Boyz II Men's two decades in the music business.

Happy for them.

The Mirage is nice place to do a residency at. I was just there to see the Beatles LOVE show and the place was just so beautiful and great location on the strip.

Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman
