I love all three. This is such a fabulous song! I'd have to go with Roberta first and foremost. After that, it's tough. Lauryn is clearly the better singer of the two, but Al's version has the harmonies that are an integral part of the song. It depends on my mood, but I'd probably give his version the edge more times than not.

What? No Luther Vandross?

To answer your question, Roberta all the way for me.

No, definitely no Luther. disbelief

Man, that Songs album was abysmal. Luther all but gave up his "King of Covers" title with that mess. lol

I probably listen to the Fugees version more and Lauryn did a good job but going with Roberta Flack.

I'd have loved to hear Lauryn record it with layers of harmony. That would've been awesome!

I'm not decided if it's Roberta's or the Fugees. For Roberta, it's a great song. With Fugees, it's more emotional since I grew up with that version (ONE TIME (time...time...time) TWO TIMES (times...times...times)). I remember singing this song throughout '96, my God. lol

The Fugees' easily!! I think it has a lot to do with which version I got to hear first. Roberta's version to me sounds like it's missing something....I think I've said this before to a friend of mine and he said to me "oh that's because you're more used to the over-production sound you grew up with"..............
