Yes but anybody can post pics and songs on the web lol

As for the articles on that website falloff Reads like fiction to me. Nope, still not convinced. lol What magazine published those articles? The Fresh magazine article lists his name as Alfonz Jones and talks about his debut LP containing a hip-hop version of "Aint No Sunshine" and another song titled "Send A Message To the Children." confused So yeah, until proven otherwise I think this guy is an Alfonzo Jones impersonator lol! lol lol

Those songs are from his second album "Champion of Love"

http://www.boogie-times.f...sque=13215

Ok they're from the 2nd LP, not his debut LP. That article was wrong then. Thanks!

Oh, I found him on Facebook too. lol

Ok, so something funny I came across...I found an "Alfonz Jones," (Alfonzo's twin brother? lol)

Champion of Love (1988 LP)

Tracklisting:

1. Funky Fresh;
2. Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone;
3. Can You Forgive Me Baby;
4. Send A Message (To The Children Of The World);
5. Sexy Thang;
6. What Lady Wants;
7. Livin' For The Thrill.

But other websites such as this one http://www.boogie-times.f...sque=13215 and the Okayplayer website identify the artist of the "Champion of Love" album as Alfonzo Jones. Soooo....are Alfonz Jones & Alfonzo Jones two different people that are getting confused for being the same person? Or are they truly one and the same? Listening to some of the tracks on both Alfonzo and Alfonz's album, vocally, they are the same. But is it just me, or does Alfonz look rather different from Alfonzo? confuse

A larger size pic of the cover: http://www.recordsale.de/cdpix/a/alfonz_jones-champion_of_love.jpg

^I think this guy and the guy on the Alfonzo L. Jones website are the same people. In the Fresh magazine article on the website, he is referred to as Alfonz Jones, and his Champion of Love LP is identified as his debut LP. But if Alfonz & Alfonzo Jones are one & the same, then this should be his debut LP:

Not this one

falloff He even copied the Bad era

No, do not you realized? Michael is copied every time this guy .... lol it Alfonso - the creative leader of the tandem. lol

---------

The author of this article - a man with a rich imagination. razz

their voices are really similar, but not identical, Michael's voice is technically far superior ...

although, judging by the behavior of this guy, he's so obsessed with Michael, so he can come up with any, even the most incredible history. wink

Maybe he was trying to pull a Janet Jackson/Alanis Morrisette, trying to get everone to believe a later album is actually the first one in hopes no one remembers the earlier one(s)?

It probably is but I wondered if this was the first time its been released on CD format?

No one knew this dude existed until after Mike passed a few years ago. lol

Ummmm, that might be true, if you were born after the 70's (i was born in 71). But, if you were alive when this album came out, you really didn't pay this cat that much attention.

"HIS FRIENDSHIP WITH "“NO. 1"”

"The voice that’s too close to Michael’'s for comfort"” is nearly the closing statement of a very good article that appeared in Echoes magazine in 1984. Google ALFONZO JONES to read the very informative piece about the similarities of MICHAEL Jackson’s and ALFONZO Jones’ upbringing.
To see a "“Thriller"” album cover look-alike and the story behind it, Click Alfonzo Jones Stronger Than Paradise for some interesting insights. It might be in Japanese or French; so you might have to click the “translate” icon on your screen.

These two background articles probably would cause people to wonder, especially after hearing the astounding voice of ALFONZO. Inasmuch as ALFONZO'S seminal album with the reclining pose came out 6 months before MICHAEL'S album; and, inasmuch as MICHAEL'S style changed from soul with "“A, B, C”" to pop soon after meeting ALFONZO, some people are definitely coming to the wrong conclusion.

During the time the Jackson scions heard ALFONZO'S album, the record industry was not keen on promoting 2 artists who sounded alike and looked quite similar. Since MICHAEL already had a huge following and a big company behind him (Motown), they mutually agreed that building his career —with ALFONZO’S help —would work the best for both (also, because of the support he was to receive).

ALFONZO helped by doing the demos of 7 of MICHAEL'S songs as well as performing on a number of them wherein his voice was kept (such as on Billie Jean). ALFONZO also wrote songs and did backup work for MICHAEL. (Of course, he was compensated well by the agreement that was worked out.)

The agreement also included the fact that MICHAEL promised to produce an album for ALFONZO and promote ALFONZO worldwide. They had started the collaboration and, in fact, ALFONZO has a track on the last album that came out entitled simply “Michael.”
As we all know, tragically, MICHAEL left us much too soon. Because the two had become very close friends over the years, ALFONZO fell into a deep depression. The loss of his friend seemed to hurt his very soul.

If it were not for the loving support of his Mom and his beloved family, coming out of that depression would have taken longer than the year it took. He and MICHAEL used to talk every week, and ALFONZO’S advice and input were regularly sought. The loss was a devastating personal and professional blow."

What the fuck?! eek Show me the receipts mad

That's what i'm saying. From my memory, he hardly made a dent, and was just another artist in the crowd. Receipts, please ?
