And I don't own it either, but I do like Rolling In The Deep.

She had relationship problems during "19".

Oh yeah, no matter what, IMHO, "Rolling in the Deep" and "Someone Like You" are classics... which according to Orgers, is a rare occurrence these days. lol

Cool beans for her.

But is it well deserved?

I heard she's a pretty lazy star -didn't see cancel her first American tour to 'chill out' with her boyfriend at the time? Whilst most people would kill for that opportunity. It's hard to respect someone like that.

At least Katy Pary, Beyonce and Rihanna work their asses off for their sales.

well... while that does seem lazy.

Adele can just sing songs, have a few hits & sell millions....

If that works, hell good for whoever does that lol

Katy & Rihana have to release new albums or re-releases every year, new singles every few months, tour, cause controversy... all that shizz cause there albums don't sell.

Beyonce albums dont sale alot either contrary to popular opinion, she doesnt even have a diamond record let alone in the top 20 of best selling albums this past decade.

And doing alot of tour and being plastered all over magazines doesnt necessarily mean you are more hardworking. They are POP stars so they HAVE to if they want to remain relevant. Adele is not a ideal pop star and despite her success she still technically isnt.

Her success shows you dont have to be a size 0, a pinup girl, show alot of skin, be overlysexual, have alot of dance pop hits for people to admire your talent and music..

YES, her success is well deserved. She did it without gimmicks and the old fashion way

Say what you want about Adele but she is the best thing that has happened to MAINSTREAM in a while. No I dont have her album and I probably wont purchase it but she at least writes her music and sings about REAL things and nothing generic unlike her peers. I will NEVER understand how people can bash Adele but then praise Rihanna, Beyonce, Katy Perry who only sale gimmicks and make trash music eek

This post is not directed toward you Gunshalen, just speaking generally lol wink

Yeah that argument about those pop tarts vs. Adele is old... it's been seen people who simply sing sell way more records than those who move around all the time onstage and sing "excitable" music. Only exception for years was Madonna until she got older.

Yea but its like a damn if you do and damn if you dont kinda thing on this site. I do agree that Adele is a tad overrated and although I do like her I wouldnt say I am a huge fan but with all that being said, its like for most, people cant just be happy that someone who exactly can sing, doesnt rely heavily on their looks and sings about REAL ISSUES has some success eek We sit and complain about popular music all the time but dont even want to give props to those that at least tries to be themselves and not follow trends. You dont have to be her biggest fan to acknowledge she can sing and her music is above average compared to what is mostly played on the radio.

I think it's people's personal preferences that help to make their "arguments". Like they can't be happy for once that someone who don't rely on gimmicks can sell that much. Then when they do, "oh it's manipulated sales..." Excuse me? lol

Exactly neutral

Just SHUT UP AND BE HAPPY biggrin that an artist who can SING, WRITES their OWN SHIT, MAKES PRETTY DESCENT music is getting attention for THEIR MUSIC rather than a non singing heffa who strips their clothes off.

I dont get the org sometimes.

Maybe the org just likes gimmick artists, I see more and more threads on those type of artists everyday here now.

Albums in the 70s,80s and 90s were common going diamond(10 mill plus) in the US alone.

She sounds like an reincarnation of a 60s artist.
