I've owned this cd since it was new and this is probably the most I've ever heard this song. The chorus ain't bad, but I always FF this one because I can't stand Walter's voice.

I can't help but feel the chorus & groove of this song. I've had this album since it was new myself. I actually think the album is kinda underrated.

I hated EMG when it came out, too bluesy and not enough "altered". I thought the album sounded lazy and too conventional for me. I remember only liking Last Mall a tiny bit.

I probably should give the album a new chance! smile

My friends would give me a thumbs down, everytime i mentioned this song. I loved it. Walter sounded so cool on this track. On a sidenote, had no idea he put out a solo album in 2008. Which i quickly purchased.

Yes, this whole song just gives me a "cool" vibe. cool

Yes, he did & I have it. I hadn't heard it in a while, but from what I remember, it had some cool tunes on it. nod

EMG is one of my favourite SD albums as it was the first I'd heard of them (I know, I know). I was sitting in a bar in Peru about seven years ago and they played the whole record from start to finish and I liked what I heard. I've taken a major shining to The Dan ever since.

I'll submit these three as evidence that you should give the album another go 'round.

...Pixeleen (Pure Pop. Chorus kills.)

...Lunch With Gina (Another goodie in their "psycho-sweetheart" series.)

...Godwhacker (Groovin'.)

Regarding Becker's vocals, obviously he's not a great singer, but like Fagen they work for the persona they've chosen to write through.

For some reason during the '09 Rent Party Tour, they had him singing Daddy Don't Live In That NYC No More.

That is a great way to get to know SD, to start with EMG and then plunge in their backcatalogue!
