HELLLL THEEEEE FUCKKKK YESSSSSSSS YASSS

This album is great cool , although must admit the videos for this album don't do it for me lol , the cheesy CGI & big hats... i'm like confused

But man this track is just epic smile , then having the slower paced I wouldn't normally do this kind of thing after is great.

Damn i have been on such a rock/metal/blues binge i haven't listened to PSB in awhile..... think i'll do that now cool

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

I've been listening to them and Depeche Mode a lot in the past month. The Pet Shop Boys definetly make my top 10 artists. The fact that they still can make great music and have only had one meh album (I'm not a big Billingual fan) in their almost 30 years in the business is crazy. The streak of Actually to Very is one of the strongest streaks of records in my opinion too.

BTW, Guns have you heard the Swing remix to Can You Forgive Her? Such a different take on the song. Feels almost like a different song.

Nightlife is the one i am actually blah on.

I feel PSB had a great run in the vein of prince, bruce, dylan & stevie.

From 1986 to 96 nothing but classic records. One meh for me with nightlife, then huge returns with Release & Fundamental! & Love Etc.

Not to mention the Alternative b-sides collection cool

Strangely enough i got interested in the boys cause Axl Rose was a huge fan, as was Lenny Kravitz & Mike Patton of Faith No More.

Also My October Symphony & Being Boring, along with Village Ghetto Land by Stevie Wonder.

Are the 3 big songs that inspired Axl to do the original 26 minute version of November Rain biggrin

Axl Rose?? Of all the people to be a Pet Shop Boys fan I'd put him towards the bottom! I became because of the Olympics this year. Before I heard them sing West End Girls the only song I'd heard by them was It's A Sin, which gave me a terrible overview of them. I thought they were one of the dozens of 80's wannabe disco artists lol

Nah! he was like in love with the Behavior album, as was Lenny Kravitz & Mike patton.

I got really obsessed witht hose 3 & read old interviews where they all liked that album.. and i was like isn't PSB a boy band? like New Kids? lol

It's a Sin is actually one of my least favorite on Actually...

Good song.. just an overrated single razz

They spent too much time on production for it. Actually's biggest benefit was its simple production on most tracks. For It's A Sin the production over took the lyrics and the writting. I recently came across a demo from 1984 of It's A Sin (I'm slowly becoming as big a fan of them as I am with Prince, Michael, Janet, and Madonnna) and it's a million times better than the released version. The production is minimal and Neil shows much more emotion.

Love it. The best opening to the best PSB disc in their discography.

Plus the swing mix is top shelf. biggrin biggrin biggrin

I swear i love jazz to much.... and when i hear swing or jazzy remixs of songs i start to love them over the original.

When i heard the too jazzy remix of too funky last year.. i don't think i listened to the original since then lol

Mine goes something like:

(Mid To Late 90's): Celine Dion, Cher, Lauryn Hill

(2001): Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Janet Jackson

(2002-2005): Ambient Music, Luther Vandross

(2005-2006): Madonna, Kylie

(2007): Prince, George Michael, P-Funk, Sade

(2008): The Beatles, George Harrison, John Lennon,

(2009-2011): Bruce Springsteen, Lady Gaga, Jimi Hendrix, Donna Summer, Whitney

(2012): Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, Bjork

(Future): I'm thinking about getting into New Order

I have a semi-photographic memory so I'm pretty good at remembering when I got into them.
