Led Zeppelin Celebration Day Concert Film, DVD + CD

All of the speculation was right: Led Zeppelin is releasing their 2007 reunion concert to fans -- and the news is even better than expected.

After teasing the news for the past week with countdown images on their Facebook page and Twitter, the band on Thursday morning posted the 62-second trailer for Celebration Day, the concert film of their December 10, 2007 one-off reunion concert at London's O2 arena, in memory of the late Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun.

Though it was widely believed that Thursday's news would be the concert's release on DVD and CD this November, Zeppelin will first release Celebration Day in movie theaters on 1,500 screens worldwide on October 17, following gala premieres in New York, London, Los Angeles and elsewhere. Then, just in time for Christmas, Celebration Day will be released November 19 on multiple video and audio formats.

You can see a list of theaters showing Celebration Day, and buy tickets to the public screenings, starting today at LedZeppelin.com.

Big Zeppelin fan here but I'm not sure how I feel about this. I guess a little indifferent. I did see Page/Plant twice in the 90's and both times were awesome, but this was in 2007? Why wait so long to release it?

Went to see this at a theater last night - absolutely blown away. It was amazing to see. The band sounded great, and the interaction and chemistry was just terrific to watch. Jason Bonham was obviously in heaven. During the rolling climax of Stairway to Heaven, as it winds towards its end like a boulder rolling down a mountain - - "and as we wind on down the road" - - the huge joyful smile on Bonham's face as he's pounding the drums was just great to see. Jimmy Page left everything on that stage. One sizzling solo after another.

It was history seeing those songs performed one last time. I think they did it the right way. One final show as a bookend, to wrap things up properly, and make it one to remember - - and indeed they did. So glad I went and saw it on the big screen. If anybody lives near a theater playing it, I highly recommend going tonight while you have the chance. Tonight is the last night for it. It's music history and well worth seeing on a big screen. The director did a fantastic job.

It wasn't supposed to be their last the guys wanted to record and take the gig on the Road but Robert Plant didn't want to continue because he said that they would dissapoint the crowd because the energy the youth carries is not there.the truth is he had a hit album and upcoming tour with folk singer Alyson Crauss
