Bilal's range is great-didn't he train as an opera singer?

re D, i guess he stays in middle range, but what he does with his voice is GREAT. Still think his vocals are underrated.

OMG.

How could I have forgotten him?

Bilal is the troof. I think he trained a jazz

singer but took courses in opera? Not sure

but one of my boys knew him.

Prince: Solo

Prince uses alot of falsetto so he really doesnt have that wide of range. There are other contemporary singers that have wider range than he

Bowie's vocal abilities often get overlooked, but he has one of the best voices in rock IMHO. Excellent range. This track is a good example.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

When I think of 'vocal range', Lisa Fischer is the first singer to pop into my head 9 times out of 10. If anyone needs a quick education on what diverse vocal range should sound like, just click on this video right here and you'll get schooled with the quickness.

mushy

Another female vocalist that I think is amazing and underappreciated is Shanice. This woman's voice is insanely soul touching for me and it's sad to see such an amazing voice have to resort to just doing covers on Youtube. sad Most of her songs make me cry especially these two:

Her tribute to Teena Marie with Teena's song 'Deja Vu' made me cry my eyes out...absolutely beautiful. touched

Can't leave out my man Maxwell. OMG this man's voice drooling He's what my angels sound like...I'm just sayin.

Oooh lawd, his voice gives me happy chills all over. mushy

I think a great song that showcases Prince's vocal range is 'Future Soul Song' from '20ten'. His voice pretty much hits all ranges on that tune I feel. Such a great song from that album. mushy

MJ had a superior falsetto (like Prince) and his chest voice (pre-puberty) was amazing. But his lower range was rather weak, imo.
