Boring & bland as all his other songs

I get the dude is trying to be a serious singer/songwriter & he does have some talent. But his songs are so cheesy.. i feel nachos cooking when his songs play0_o

And it seems he writes his lyrics in 5 minutes

it screams The Police's "Message In A Bottle" all over it...

Thank you! And people sweat this guy like he's so great and original. Funny enough this might be the best song i've ever heard from him but I still don't get the hype surrounding him.

Total crap. A Police pastiche, and a bad one at that.

oh yes also the fact he is trying his best to sound like Sting

On his first album he was trying to be Billy Joel.. now he is trying to be The Police?

I don't really care if it does sound like the Police. It's fun, funky as hell, and a great jam.

If this is the face of pop music to come, I'm happy as hell about it.

The chorus is nearly the same chords and melody of Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know".

You might at least have some originality, Bruno.

He can try all he wants but he makes Ne-Yo look like a deep and profound lyricist

It's ok. I've never really liked him as an artist, but I do like a lot of songs that he's had writing credits on, and I heard covers of his songs that I like, so I think it's mainly that I don't really like his vocal tone.

It's kinda growing on me.

if I had just heard this and not known who it was - I would have said someone deconstructed 'Message' and re-arranged the beats.

I guess it's a chance for kids who have never heard of The Police to think it's the newest, most innovative, coolest thing in the world.

Bruno has the talent to make better songs, but the thing with him is that he doesn't have the experience to write more experimental songs, and that's why the songs he produces are so "pop" and "cheesy", his live versions are always better though. I wish he could have taken the drug experience and put it into his work, so we can see a more complex side of him. He comes from Hawaii after all and had a pretty ordinary life, where he was the youngest elvis impersoniator (and being a huge MJ & James Brown fan at that) which makes his music a little naive and kinda juvenile. He's a good dancer, he writes, produces and plays various instruments so he def has the potential to become a better artist. I wish Bruno and Janelle could work more closely together, because they have similar inspirations and they're good friends.
