1. Sly and The Family Stone

2. Earth, Wind and Fire

3. The Isley Brothers

4. Maze featuring Frankie Beverly

5. Parliament/Funkadelic

6. Kool and The Gang

7. The Ohio Players

8. Con Funk Shun

9. The Bar-Kays

10. rufus featuring chaka khan

Is it in that order? Did I miss anybody?

I would drop con funk shun and replace them with Slave. Other than that, I like your list.

Why list them? According to Micky Dolenz the funk soul bands don't matter

unless they crossover. They were never big sellers. lol

Interesting. I would never call The Commodores a funk band. Crusaders either. Maze either. lol

Graham Central Station with all due respect to Larry Graham were

good but after the Now Do U Wanta Dance album they got corny.

My list of best funk soul bands are

Barkays

Confunkshun

Cameo

Slave

Ohio Players

Parliament

James Brown and the JB's

Gap Band

Earth Wind & Fire

Brass Construction

Isley Brothers
