Unsung: Gerald LeVert and next season

The thread is a thread devoted to the upcoming season finale of Unsung dedicated to Gerald LeVert!

But I'd also would like to discuss who would you like to see next season as well. So talk about Gerald and any artists you'd like to see on Unsung.

I don't have cable/satellite, but I doubt they'd show anybody I'd be interested in.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

The Unsung episodes post on TV One's website http://tvone.tv/shows/unsung about a day after air. That where I watch.

true, but that's exactly why their stories should be told. They are truly "unsung" lol Come on,wouldn't you love to see Betty Davis' story? She's considered a female funk pioneer, but she's such a mystery!

The Jones Girls should also be featured. They were the successful girl group of Philadelphia International Records, which the Three Degrees never really became, despite their major 1974 hit.

Most of Gerald's material was hit & miss with me. But, as a live singer, no other male singer could touch Gerald. He was like the female Patti Labelle. He always delivered 100%! I'm really looking forward to this episode.

Here's who I'd like to see on upcoming seaons:

The Jones Girls

Gwen Guthrie

Starpoint

Patti Austin

Jean Carne

Cheryl Lynn

And even though he only recorded one album, I think Sherrick would make a highly interesting story.

They had some cool jams headbang my favorites are: "Here's To You","Superlove","Call Me" and "High".I remember in the fall of '81,I bought the 45 of "Call Me" and the B-side was the slow jam "When You Touch Me",which got alot of airplay too, eventually becoming its own single.

I would love to see an UNSUNG special on READY FOR THE WORLD biggrin biggrin

totally ahead of the curve but never really got their props

their musical prowess was off the charts

nobody created slow jams like these cats

the precursor to New Jack Swing

and a special on the group TODAY would be awesome too.........biggrin biggrin biggrin

Sherrick! I discovered him last year. I heard Baby I'm For Real on the radio and I had to search the internet trying to find out who it could be (lots of people have covered that song). Incredible voice...sad story. sad

Shout Out 2 my favorite show on Tell-Lies Vision Unsung. Also Gerald Levert does his own unsung segment not only because he was a very talented singer but his story would seem very intersting

coming from a musical backgroup from his legendary Father Eddie Levert/Ojay's.

With that said here is my list of Unsung shows I would love 2 see.

The Time - can they finally get their story told please.

Ready 4 the World

Slick Rick

Cameo

Gap Band

Heavy D

The Deele

Kool and the Gang
