The Rebirth of Floetry Photo: (Left to right) Stewart and Dexter
August 3, 2012
The Floacist, real name Natalie Stewart, one one half of the platinum selling group Floetry, is reviving the group. The poetic rapper has joined forces with Julie Dexter under the moniker 'Floetry Re:Birth' and plans to perform for the first time in the United States at Vail Soul Music Fest. After releasing two albums, Floetic and Flo'Ology, and the live disc Floacism, Natalie Stewart and Marsha Ambrosius parted ways in 2007.

Why not just give the group a whole completely different name instead of recycling it? I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Because she probably think people won't recognize her without the name

Well at least she's committed to keeping the group's name alive. Don't laugh at my funk

I've never heard a song by Floetry but that has got to be one of the worst names I have ever heard. Even if I loved Floetry's music I would be far too embarrassed to have such a silly name in my collection.

Really? It's not that bad to me.
I always cringe inwardly at "Lady Gaga" though. Sure I know it's from a Queen song but it still doesn't make for a good name.

Man... hells no! Julie Dexter doesn't need this! She's a force to be reckoned with on her own! (((SMH)))

I liked the original Floetry back in the day.

Ever heard of Hoobastank?
The name Floetry was just a play on words. One member of the duo was a poet and the other was the lyricist(singer) who called herself the floacist thus the name Floetry. Sounds pretty cool to me. Don't laugh at my funk
