When you became a fan?

Do you remember a year when you became a fan of artists that you like so far? smile

It is interesting to find fan-made experience ..
Scorpions and Queen - I do not remember, probably all my life, my parents - their fans.
A-Ha - 2003
The Beatles - 2005 (although I always liked many songs as I can remember)
Pink Floyd - 2007
Prince, Metallica, Depeche Mode - 2009
MJ - 2010
Amy Winehouse - 2011
I can not say for sure about someone else hmmm

Many artists, I don't remember when I became a fan. I have liked several acts since their debut album and have continued to support their music until this day.

Babyface - 1988 (especially after he really started producing and writing for others).

Janet Jackson - 1986

Prince - 1979

George Michael - 1984

Marvin Gaye - 1992 (when I really started paying attention to Let's Get It On and What's Going On)

Stevie Wonder - 1992

MJ - 1978 (After Shake Your Body Down, I became hooked)

Luther Vandross - 1985 (became a huge fan after The Night I Fell In Love)

The Whispers - 1979 (after their self-titled album, I fell in love with them)

The Temptations - 1994 (I really got into them after the Milestone album came out. I then started buying more and more of their catalog).

Diana Ross - 1980 (I fell in love after the Diana album )

Lionel Richie - 1977 (I became a fan once I heard "This Is Your Life" and started really liking the Commodores and Lionel).

I'll just do my top 12....

The Beatles- 1984 (being exposed to them through all the 20th anniversary US arrival hoopla)

Stevie Wonder- 2004

Iron Maiden- 1992

Rush- 1994 (after buying EVERY record trying to find ONE song that I heard on a bootleg)

Prince- 2011

Sting/The Police- 1994

Genesis/Peter Gabriel- 1996

Mint Condition- 2007

Kansas- 1998

Dream Theater- 1993

Fates Warning- 1994

The Isley Brothers- 2005

Honorable mention goes to the big four of US Thrash Metal (Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax) that I discovered in 1989... a phase that I went through for a couple of years and that I still enjoy on occasion.

I became a fan of most of them that were already around in either 1978 or 1979. I became a fan of the others when they came out.

And what a song it was?

I was reminded, as I was looking for artist of the song I once heard as a child and absolutely fell in love... I found it only in 2010. It was Liberian girl. lol

I became a fan of some of the artists when I could barely walk much less talk...

I do remember when I became a full-fledged Marvin fan, it started with VH-1. I got so in tune with his story that I immediately tried seeking his stuff. Once I got What's Going On, Let's Get It On, his anthology set and Here, My Dear, it was on and has been on since.

I don't think a toddler should be listening to Prince and I'm sure we all know what George's biggest hit the next year would be lol

I was not a fan of music to a certain age. My parents often listened to different music (especially rock music, and Italian pop singers 70s-80s), but to choose the artists and music, that is, create my own musical taste, I started when I was 10-11 years . Prior to that, I just punted and listened to what we played at home. lol
