Best Summer for Music?

For me, it will always be 1981. Just one great dance jam after another.

1984 really sticks out in my mind... even though I was only 7.

I just remember it being an exciting time for music and being on Summer vacation and constantly hearing Purple Rain songs, Van Halen songs and an assortment of other things that have left a lasting impression.

nod I also remember in August of '81,the Time's debut single "Get It Up" came out.I was in Detroit during that summer,and that song took off like a rocket!! It was HUGE.

I would group my summers together. Definitely 1977-1979 and 1982-1984. Interesting that it's all before my teen years.

that's right lol it was released in August of that year.Oddly enough,the first single from their album was actually "He's So Dull" but our radio stations never played it.I guess it was too 'pop' for R&B stations?
